Participants Writing Love Letters To Their Bodies
Tapping Your Force Within-1
The Letters Reflect One's Body Image And Create Self-Awareness

The last three EFT workshops organized by Dr Rupa Shah on 31 May 2015, 13 June and 27 June 2015 opened many unexplored areas of the thought processes and revealed the power of emotions, surprising all the participants themselves. Here is what happened…

“There are more to our emotions than we give credit for. They are powerful sources of energy,” pointed out Dr Rupa Shah in the intensive workshop series.

Positive Experience

As she did in her earlier workshops, since there were new participants, Dr Shah guided the participants through the steps of EFT and asked them to recall a past memory or incident that evoked strong emotions. While remembering the incident, the participants were guided through the EFT steps and were asked to compare the intensity of the response before and after the exercises. Each time, all participants experienced a reduction in the intensity of their emotions with respect to a painful memory.

The technique though experiential, is very effective in helping bring about positive changes and experience relief from many symptoms that one is suffering from.

Cause & Effect

Dr Rupa Shah stressed, “We have a unique relationship with ourselves and our bodies”. She elaborated, “Emotions are known to directly affect a correlated organ. For instance, fear affects the kidneys, whereas anger affects the heart. During an EFT session, participants focused on a specific issue while tapping on end points of the body’s energy meridians on the forehead. “If we allow our negative emotions to fester in our minds, they will eventually disrupt our body’s energy meridians,” she said.

From Dr Shah’s experience through the years, she said, “Many of us have a number of experiences in our lives and some of them become negative memories over a period of time. Memories and emotions are very powerful and shape our attitude from a very early age. Most of us experience strong emotions with certain memories of events that happened in the past. And if the correct intervention is not done, it may develop into a phobia or inhibit the person from functioning normally. “EFT is the right tool in such instances. EFT heals memories and even offers physical relief”, she said.

Knocking One’s Blocks Off

“Do we truly love ourselves? Do we love our bodies, regardless of our shapes?” All those present in the room looked at each other and smiled knowingly. Most members shook their heads unanimously.

  • “I need to lose weight”, shared a young girl
  • “I’m too fat!” said a housewife

“We need to love our bodies and ourselves unconditionally,” stressed the doctor. She gave participants an exercise to write a love letter to your body. When they were through, she asked all of them to read out their letters. A few participants felt edgy and emotional while reading out their letters. This was an exercise of self-realization, where each person becomes aware of how one perceives his or her body. “It’s an effective way to overcome your blocks and release negative energies in your body, and you will realize how you have been abusing your bodies with bad foods,” said the doctor. The letter mirrors your attitude and relationship with yourself.

“Tap every day, tap to release negative emotions and tap to overcome your blocks and see how your body and mind responds. Your mind is equipped with abundant energy forces within and resources that are capable of healing your body. Nurture your mind and body with healthy body and unconditional love,” said Dr Rupa Shah at the end of the workshop.
